Building a friendly, reliable brand identity for Hindustan Unilever’s MyKirana App
Hindustan Unilever’s Hyperlocal team sought a fresh visual identity for its new app, MyKirana. The goal was to create instant recall, attract larger audiences, and reflect the essence of a friendly neighbourhood kirana store, making its services immediately recognizable.
With consumer attention spans shrinking to just 8 seconds, we designed for instant recognition. The identity drew inspiration from kirana store awnings and product offerings, ensuring familiarity and trust at first glance. Typography was carefully chosen for a friendly, reliable appeal to Indian audiences. Complemented by simple, intuitive iconography, the design highlighted product categories and ensured consistency across digital and physical channels.
The result was a distinctive, relatable identity that positioned MyKirana as a trusted, approachable neighbourhood brand.
